Iraq

With AMIDEAST YES program staff in company, two alumni from the class of '05, Shko and Botan, and four from the class of '06, Shalaw, Dleen, Diya and Mohammed met with the Kurdistan Regional Government's Ministry of Education officials in Erbil. The purpose of the meeting was to introduce themselves, talk about their experience on the YES program, and address issues concerning their re-entry into Iraq and their high schools following their completion of the YES program.

On September 11th , AMIDEAST held an alumni lunch for YES LINC alumni. Alumni from both programs interacted and shared stories about their experiences in the U.S. YES and LINC students were very enthusiastic about participating in the promotion of the YES 2007-2008 program among their high school peers in Iraq.
