Shko `06 assisted the AMIDEAST Iraq testing staff in Erbil with the administration of the April 12th ITP test at Salahaddin University by working as an exam proctor. Shko is currently one of the most active YES alums; he calls the office every so often to say hello to the staff and to ask if the office needs him to help out with projects. The staff is very grateful for his enthusiasm and help.

Duraid `06 volunteered to assist on short notice with the State Department sponsored Iraqi Youth Leadership Exchange Program interviews in Baghdad on April 15th. Duraid is a stellar example of a YES alum and our staff greatly benefited from his assistance and insight during the interviews.

The YES Alumni Newsletter for the Near East and Pakistan is produced by AMIDEAST. The YES scholarship program is funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Cultural and Educational Affairs and administered by several organizations. AMIDEAST is part of a consortium that includes AYUSA International, ASSE, ASPECT Foundation, Center for Cultural Interchange, Council on International Educational Exchange, iEARN, Pacific Intercultural Exchange, Sister Cities International, Youth For Understanding
