The Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) Listening & Reading test is a two-hour English language proficiency examination for people whose native language is not English. It includes 200 multiple-choice questions divided into two sections:
The TOEIC is designed to indicate how well people can communicate in English with others in the workplace. It does not require specialized knowledge or vocabulary beyond that of a person who uses English in everyday work activities. The TOEIC Examinee Handbook has further details on test content.
AMIDEAST testing centers schedule regular TOEIC test dates and may also be able to arrange special administrations by request if demand is sufficient.
You can pre-register for TOEIC tests online if you want to test at one of the following AMIDEAST locations:
Egypt: Alexandria, Cairo
Gaza
Tunisia: Tunis, Sousse
UAE: Abu Dhabi, Sharjah
Yemen: Aden
To reserve a space for TOEIC open session administrations at all other AMIDEAST offices, or to get details on arranging a TOEIC administration for a group, please contact your country’s AMIDEAST office directly.
It is important for you to be familiar with the kinds of questions asked on the TOEIC. There are several ways to prepare.
Your official scores and TOEIC certificate should be available at your AMIDEAST office two weeks from your test date. Scores are confidential and will be released only to you and your sponsoring organization unless you specify otherwise. With your written permission, scores can also be provided to other organizations. Please contact your AMIDEAST field office with any question about your scores.
