What other tests are available?

A number of other tests are offered regularly or by demand at AMIDEAST.

• Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS) qualifying examination.
• General Educational Development Test (GED):  The GED test allows students to obtain the equivalent of a U.S. high school diploma.  The exam consists of six sections: writing, mathematics, science, social sciences, literature, and art.  
• Institute of Management Accountants (CMA).  A four-part licensing exam.
• Law School Admissions Test (LSAT): Used for placement in first professional-level U.S. law programs.
• Secondary Level English Proficiency examination (SLEP).
• Test of Spoken English (TSE):  Test sometimes requested by universities for potential teaching assistants at the graduate level.
• Additional tests may be available upon request.  

Where do I get registration bulletins?

AMIDEAST maintains a supply of registration bulletins for many of these tests.

Registration information as well as details on the exam content is also available on each test organization's Web site.

How do I prepare for these tests?

It is important for you to be familiar with the kinds of questions asked on these tests. There are several ways to prepare.

• Visit the test organization's Web site for sample questions and tips
• Do the sample questions in the registration bulletin
• Purchase test preparation materials from AMIDEAST
• Take a test preparation class at AMIDEAST

What do I do on the day of the test?

• Arrive at the testing site at the assigned time. Check-in procedures take time. If you arrive late, you may not be admitted to the test, and you will forfeit your test fees.
• Bring photobearing identification, as described in the registration bulletin.
• Bring your test confirmation information.

What about my scores?

Your official scores will be mailed from the United States as explained in the bulletin. Please allow time for them to arrive by international mail.

If you need score reports to be sent to additional institutions, please contact the testing organization.

If scores are missing eight weeks after you take the exam, questions should be directed to the testing organization. Contact information is listed in the registration bulletin and on the testing organization Web site. Score report problems are best avoided by careful preparation of the registration form: writing name and mailing address clearly and following payment procedures outlined.
