David Mize Scholarship Fund

 

Program Summary

The David Mize Scholarship Fund (DMSF) provides a scholarship for a gifted Egypt student seeking to pursue his or her undergraduate study in the United States. The DMSP is made possible through a generous annual contribution from an Egyptian businessman and alumnus of top U.S. educational institutions in honor of former AMIDEAST/Egypt Country Director David Mize and in recognition of his dedication and commitment to international education and exchange. Successful candidates may pursue their studies in any field of study except law, medicine, pharmacy, and dentistry.


Main Goals

  • Serve gifted Egyptian students who are interested in pursuing their undergraduate studies in the United States
  • Assist eligible Egyptian undergraduates in identifying and applying for scholarships at U.S. colleges and universities that match their qualifications

Program Results

  • The David Mize Scholarship has been awarded to individuals pursuing degrees at New York University (2007), Trinity College (2008), and the Manhattan School of Music and American University (2009).

Application Information

  •  Eligibility requirements: Applicant must:
  •  Be an Egyptian national
  • Be planning on pursuing his/her undergraduate degree in a U.S. educational institution in any field of study except law, medicine, pharmacy and dentistry
  • Be mature, flexible, and can adapt to studying and living in the USA
  • Have a strong academic background
  • Have a high level of English language proficiency
  • Have been or currently involved in extra-curricular activities
