English Access Microscholarship Program
We are not currently accepting applications. Please check this page for updates.

AMIDEAST/Oman is proud to work with the U.S. Embassy in Muscat and the Oman Ministry of Education to administer the English “Access” Microscholarship Program in Oman. Since 2010, 320 9th and 10th grade Omani students from government schools in Muscat, Sohar, Nizwa, and Salalah have participated and benefitted from after-school English courses and extracurricular activities focused on developing students’ communicative and intercultural skills and enhancing educational and employment opportunities.

Every week, Access students take part in 3 to 4 ½ hours of after-school English courses with their AMIDEAST American instructors who live and work in each of the four Access regions. When not in the classroom, students and instructors are active in their local communities, visiting local sites of interest, volunteering, or interacting with community members and leaders.

The English Access Microscholarship Program is a successful, worldwide program that has reached 55,000 teenage students in 70 countries since the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational Cultural Affairs introduced Access in 2004.
