

In June 2013, AMIDEAST/Oman, in partnership with the US Embassy and the Ministry of Education, will host 320 Omani 9th and 10th graders in 2, 2-week intensive summer English camps in Muscat, Nizwa, Sohar, and Salalah. Camps will run from 9-20 June 2013 and from 23 June – 4 July 2013.
In each of the regional camps, an Omani co-teacher is sought to teach alongside an American English instructor and other staff members and to help facilitate 50 hours of intensive English instruction to Omani students.
Required qualifications and skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including advanced proficiency in both English and Arabic
• Previous experience as a teacher (e.g. experience within the Ministry of Education), or summer camp programs
• Advanced level of maturity exhibited by sound judgment, emotional intelligence & stability, flexibility and willingness to accept responsibility
• Must possess problem-solving skills, be a team player and a self-starter
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Cross-cultural sensitivity
• Availability to work up to 7 hours a day, including up to 4 teaching contact hours with students
• Availability for regional travel in Oman
• Omani citizen
• Native Arabic speaker
