OSPs are certified and continuously monitored through a rigorous process to ensure that they meet AMIDEAST quality standards. OSPs utilize AMIDEAST course designs, outlines, textbooks and methodology in order to deliver the same high quality educational services. OSP instructors are approved by AMIDEAST and are subject to the same selection and evaluation criteria as those who teach in the main offices in Cairo and the branch office in Alexandria.
Although OSPs are affiliated with AMIDEAST/Egypt, they retain their identities as individually operated businesses.
Application for Off-Site Affiliation
The following procedure is in place for assessing new Off Site Providers:
2. The OSP Coordinator visits the center and interviews the applicant for background information and an initial impression.
3. The written application is reviewed and assessed.
4. On the basis of the interview, paper work, and site visit, the OSP Coordinator prepares a report with recommendations to the senior administration of AMIDEAST.
5. The senior administration makes the final decision. A second site visit and interview may be required.
Off Site Providers must meet the following criteria:
- The educational facility must meet AMIDEAST’s high standards in regards to location, classroom and laboratory size, available computers, computer networking, audio-visual equipment, teaching aids, administrative offices, equipment and furniture, lighting, cleanliness, instructors' room, library, climate control, telecommunications, noise reduction techniques, copiers, bulletin or notice boards, cafeteria, external signs, entrance, restrooms and general aesthetics.
- The leadership of the educational institution must be capable, reputable, and service-oriented. Leadership must be willing to abide by AMIDEAST’s policies and procedures and report regularly on the center's activities. The center should not be engaged in activities that might be construed as having a conflict of interest with AMIDEAST. Leadership should be willing to enter into the letter and spirit of partnership by informing AMIDEAST of potential areas of expansion and offering AMIDEAST first option to cooperate in new ventures.
- The center must be able to attract qualified instructors. It should submit their applications to AMIDEAST for screening, interviewing, selecting and training.
- The center must have a strong market base to ensure growth and sustainability. This will be determined with the initial feasibility study.
- The center's owner(s) must have the financial ability to support a business in its early phases, as it is unlikely that a cooperating center will be initially profitable.
