Youth Exchange and Study Program (YES)
AMIDEAST administers the U.S. Department of State’s Youth Exchange and Study Program (YES), a scholarship program for high-school age students in the Middle East and Asia. The prestigious YES scholarships cover all major expenses, including airfare, room and board, health insurance, pocket money, and educational supplies. Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of their applications and interviews with an interview panel.
YES students have the opportunity to:
- Live with an American family
- Study at a U.S. high school
- Experience U.S. culture and society first hand
- Participate in a youth leadership training program
- Improve their English
- Make new friends
- Help Americans learn more about Yemen and Yemeni culture!
How to apply:
Pre-applications are usually accepted annually in September or October. Please check back at that time to download a pre-application form.
