This view of Kuwait City’s skyline is dominated by the “Liberation Tower,” which opened in 1996. Construction began before the Iraqi invasion and then resumed in 1993. It serves as a public observation post and TV tower, and at 1,214 feet, is nearly double the height of the Kuwait Towers.
