Test Preparation Courses

Placement test is required to take the any test preparation course:

  • Time: every Wednesday at 3:00
  • Duration: one hour
  • Fees: 10 JODs
  • Registration: must be 1-2 days in advance

Requirements: photo identification

  • Maximum number of students per class is 16

Placement test scores:

  • 40 /70 minimum required for TOEFL & SAT
  • 40/70 for GRE & GMAT, classes or equivalent demonstration of English ability

Adult English Language Courses

Level 0: Taking off, a four-skills, standards-based program for low beginning students at English.

Levels 1-4: Worldview, a course which responds to a variety of needs and covers a wide range of compelling topics from an international perspective.  It motivates learning through stimulating content and achievable goals, provides strong language presentations.  Personalized learning through activities.  This course is for beginners through low intermediate students of English. 

Levels 5, 6: Passages, stimulates students to talk and write about a variety of thought provoking topics.  Activities develop fluency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, while presentations of advance grammar points and vocabulary helps you to communicate with greater accuracy.  This course is for high-intermediate to low-advanced students of English.

Business Report Writing Training

This course teaches the skills of report reading and writing using a system of organization applicable to any native speaker report writer.  The underlying methodology of the course is that the students should be presented with task—oriented activities that are both challenging and authentic in the field of business.  Using this approach, the student is taken through the following stages in each units:

    • Being forced to read and think about the content of the report or extract.
    • Thinking about the structure and organization of a report.
    • Thinking about the language used to express the content.
    • Applying this knowledge to the skill of writing a report.

Professional Business Writing and Communication Training

Utilizing the international recognized book by Dr. Kenneth W. Davis, this 36-hour course takes students through clear, manageable steps designed to develop their professional business writing style.  This course is filled with hands-on exercises, group work, tests, expert insights into writing, all of which introduces students to the tools and techniques they need to:

    • quickly collect and organize the information needed
    • grab readers’ attention by choosing stronger nouns and verbs
    • Eliminate nonspecific words and phrases from their writing
    • Use “turn signals” to guide the reader from sentence to sentence
    • Manage online and cross-cultural writing
    • Focus first on getting each project written before concerning oneself with getting it right

Proposal Writing Training
March 23-26, 2008 (9 hours)

This course will help you learn how to write attractive and coherent proposals that are sure to grab your audience’s attention. In a creative and supportive environment, participants will learn how to define and incorporate the client’s needs and outputs into various proposal formats; learn about the necessary components of a successful proposal; receive guidance on appropriate and necessary content; and improve their writing skills.
