The Hope Fund Undergraduate Scholarship is designed to provide talented Palestinian youth who possess leadership potential with an opportunity to pursue an undergraduate degree in the United States. It targets Palestinian refugees living below the poverty line throughout the Mideast, but especially in the West Bank, Gaza Strip, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria, where the needs are most urgent. The program is the result of the generosity and commitment of Dr. Fahim Qubain, with support and cooperation from AMIDEAST’s offices in West Bank/Gaza, Jordan, and Lebanon. Since its inception in 2000, nearly 30 bright young men and women have begun their undergraduate studies in the United States. |
AMIDEAST made its entry into Kuwait in 1992. During this time of need, AMIDEAST was able to quickly begin providing much-needed educational services to the country’s students and professionals. We have provided advise on various U.S. educational opportunities to over 50,000 students since our inception.
Our AMIDEAST office is equipped with computers which individuals may use to research various educational and training programs in the United States. AMIDEAST Kuwait administers most of the major exams required for study in the U.S., including the TOEFL®, GRE® and SAT®.

Launched in 2005, the Palestinian Faculty Development Program (PFDP) is a five-year program that aims to increase capacity within the higher education sector and address long-term issues of reform in teaching and learning practices at institutions of higher learning in the West Bank and Gaza. Funded by USAID and the Open Society Institute, the $11.4 million initiative will encourage the professional development of promising young academics who are teaching in the social sciences and humanities;revitalize and reform teaching in these areas; and promote an institutional culture of teaching and learning to ensure that the PFDP’s impact will continue beyond its seven-year lifespan. |
