In September 2001 AMIDEAST opened a new center in Sousse, the third largest city in Tunisia.

Sousse, the third largest city in Tunisia, is also a major tourist hub and offers the same attractions for the Sahel region.
New teachers should come into the country as a tourist. This allows 3–4 months, depending on nationality, to complete the necessary paper work in order for AMIDEAST to apply for your work permit and then help you apply for a temporary residence visa (carte de séjour) that lasts for a year from the date of issue. If you renew your contract with AMIDEAST for a second year, you will need to renew your carte de séjour. Should your carte de séjour expire before you leave the country, you will have to pay a fine for each month you overstay.

Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Program is a scholarship program for Tunisian high-school age students to spend one academic year in the United States. The YES program is a merit-based competition open to students who would not traditionally have access to American Secondary education and who exhibit academic excellence, leadership potential, and a desire to enhance relations between the United States and their home countries.

You are invited to apply for a Fulbright Graduate Scholarship sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and administered by AMIDEAST for the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 academic years.
There are two different Fulbright Graduate scholarships available for Tunisian students. One provides successful candidates with a maximum of two years' funding toward a master's degree (for the academic years 2014-2015 and 2015-2016). The other provides graduate-level students currently enrolled in doctoral programs the opportunity to conduct research in U.S. institutions of higher education for one academic year (2014-2015), in the context of cultural and academic exchange.
These scholarships cover expenses incurred for travel to and from the United States, tuition, books, health coverage, as well as living stipends. Funding is NOT available to meet expenses related to Fulbright grantees’ dependents (husbands, wives, children, parents, etc).
