Launched in fall 2007, the Model Schools Network (MSN) Program is a USAID-funded initiative aims to improve basic education in Palestine over a five-year period. MSN will introduce a student-centered, contemporary approach to teaching and learning at 20 private schools in the West Bank. Organized into a “network,” these “model schools” will in turn serve as the foundation for replicating lessons learned and best practices at other Palestinian schools during and beyond MSN’s lifespan.
During the MSN project’s four years, more than 9,500 children and 160 teachers and principals will benefit directly as pilot reforms are introduced at the model schools. AMIDEAST will partner with three local Palestinian organizations—Birzeit University, Al Quds University, and Al Muntada: The Young Scientists’ Club to implement the project.
