Program Design

The focus of the two-year program is English language skills development. In addition to English language, the program will focus on Leadership skills and Public Speaking. Students will be encouraged to develop their spoken language, build confidence when speaking in public, develop skills and techniques to strengthen their leadership qualities and team building will be promoted throughout the program. In addition, scholarship recipients will participate in a range of monthly activities. These will include field trips to museums, sports activities, access to guest-speakers, etc.

 

Eligibility Requirements

Students who wish to participate in this two year program, must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have a minimum of a 70% grade point average at school.
  • Currently enrolled in grades eight or nine, in a school where the language of instruction is not English. Minimum age 13 years old.
  • Must be able to participate in and commit to the two-year program in its entirety.
  • Must be able to participate in extra-curricular and cultural activities.
  • Must not have been enrolled in the program in previous years.
  • Must NOT be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, or have been born in the United States.

 

Required Documents:

  • Secondary school transcripts of last year (2014-2015)
  • Copy of student civil ID
  • Copy of student passport bio page.
