Youth Exchange and Study Program (YES)

AMIDEAST is pleased to announce the launching of the Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Scholarship Program for the 2010–2011 academic year.
As a YES student, you will have the opportunity to:
- Live with an American family
- Study at a U.S. high school
- Participate in a youth leadership training program
- Experience U.S. culture and society first hand
- Improve your English
- Make new friends
- Help Americans learn about your country
YES scholarships cover all major expenses, including airfare, room and board, health insurance, pocket money, and educational supplies.
What current Jordanian YES students say about their experience:
"The experience of living in the USA has been full of excitement and learning till now. I have experienced something totally new, that I never experienced before. Although a lot of US citizens have a wrong idea about how we live in Middle East, but they are very friendly people who accept new ideas and hearing others point of view. Most of the people around me now have a different idea about Middle East, and they think it is cool to live in a kingdom like Jordan with a king ruling it like King Abdullah and King Hussain. Everybody here is very nice and ready to help at any time. And I would say that the YES program has been a very successful program so far, and it is expected that it would even get better..".

"I am happy I made the right choice and participated in the YES program, in which I had the chance to get the American experience, and to know what Americans really are!
I think that this experience opened my eyes widely on the world, and made me know what another culture is like away from all the stereotypes we hear!"
