AMIDEAST is accepting applications on behalf of the Iraqi Women Fellowship Foundation (IWFF) fellowship program, a one- year fellowship at a U.S. University which includes up to two months of pre-academic English language training. This program is funded through multiple sources and administered by AMIDEAST.
This solicitation has no deadline. For the best chance, apply as soon as possible. As each IWFF opportunity arises, applications already received will be reviewed.
IWFF FINALISTS MUST HAVE AN IRAQI G PASSPORT IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE. IF YOU DO NOT, PLEASE APPLY FOR ONE IMMEDIATELY.
As an IWFF participant, you will have the opportunity to:
- Attend a prestigious US university as a faculty-in-residence to upgrade your knowledge and teaching skills in engineering and applied sciences to contribute to your home university on return
- Improve your English
- Interact with U.S. university professors and other education professionals
- Experience U.S. culture and society
IWFF Fellowships cover all major expenses, including airfare, housing and maintenance allowances, and health insurance. Program costs will be covered by the institution you are attending.
Applicants to the IWFF program must meet the following criteria:
- Currently a qualified university faculty member in engineering and applied sciences, with university references
- Meet minimum English proficiency requirement (500 TOEFL or equivalent ITP)
- Be nationals of Iraq currently living in Iraq
- Hold Masters or PhD in any area of engineering and applied science [PhD-level Mechanical Engineering faculty members are preferred]
- Be available to travel to the U.S. for one year
Fellowship recipients will be selected on the basis of their applications and interviews with a selection panel.
