State Alumni Website

STATE ALUMNI is the official website for more than 1,000,000 alumni of exchange programs sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.  Interactive, dynamic and password-protected, alumni.state.gov offers alumni from U.S. government-sponsored exchange programs a place to:

  • Network with alumni from Fulbright, IVLP, and other programs
  • Participate in the Fulbright Community
  • Register for a FulbrightMail.org email account
  • Find grant and funding opportunities worth more than $33 billion
  • Access more than 20,000 free periodicals, newspapers, and more

Alumni Development Grants

AMIDEAST, on behalf of the U.S. Department of State, administers the Fulbright Alumni Development Grant program as part of an effort to support the professional development of Fulbright Foreign Student Program alumni from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. This program provides Fulbright Foreign Student Program alumni the opportunity to attend a professional conference or seminar, complete a short-term training program, conduct a collaborative research project, or participate in a professional visit with colleagues in their field.

Some examples of previous Alumni Development Grant activities include:

  • Attending a specialty conference of the American Water Resources Association on Adaptive Resource Management in Montana
  • Completing a short-term training course in Business Continuity Management and IT Disaster Recovery in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates
  • Conducting a workshop on "Using the Internet as an Instructional Tool to Increase Effectiveness of an Educational Delivery System" at the EFL Skills Conference in Cairo, Egypt
  • Participating in the 8th Annual Harvard University Forum on Islamic Finance at Harvard Law School in Massachusetts
  • Visits to an American research institute or company to identify possible collaborative research on electrical industry restructuring
