Planning to take the SAT? The College Board is enhancing security measures starting this fall. Among other changes, when you register you will now be asked to provide a current, recognizable digital or hard copy photo that will be used on your admission ticket. Is Saudi education giving students a false sense of English proficiency? A recent editorial in the Saudi Gazette argues that poor assessment has become a major problem, while discussing the importance of having a real knowledge of the English language. We suggest Saudi educators use a standardized test such as the TOEIC tests for students in engineering, business, and technical fields and TOEFL ITP Assessments for students in the humanities to gain a more complete knowledge of their students' skills and track their learning progress.
