Are you interested in pursuing your undergraduate education in the U.S.A.?

The David Mize Scholarship was made possible through a generous annual contribution from an Egyptian-American businessman and alumnus of top U.S. educational institutions in honor of former AMIDEAST/Egypt Country Director David Mize and in recognition of his dedication and commitment to the field of international education and exchange.

The Scholarship will serve gifted Egyptian students who are interested in pursuing their undergraduate degrees in the United States.

Through the David Mize Scholarship, AMIDEAST/Egypt will assist eligible Egyptian undergraduates in identifying and applying for scholarships at U.S. colleges and universities that match their qualifications. The scholarships will be awarded to competent Egyptian undergraduates with excellent academic records and leadership potential.

Successful candidates may pursue their studies in any field of study except law, medicine, pharmacy, and dentistry.

Eligibility Requirements:

Applicant must:

  • Be an Egyptian national
  • Be planning on pursuing his/her undergraduate degree in a U.S. educational institution in any field of study except law, medicine, pharmacy and dentistry
  • Be mature, flexible, and can adapt to studying and living in the USA
  • Have a strong academic background
  • Have a high level of English language proficiency
  • Have been or currently involved in extra-curricular activities
  • Be prepared to depart for study in the USA in the academic year 2008-09

Test Requirements:

Test Minimum Score
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Computer-Based Test (CBT) or
Internet-Based Test (iBT)		 CBT: 250
iBT: 100
Scholastic Admissions Test (SAT)- Reasoning Test 1300 (combined in the Critical Reading and Mathematics sections)
SAT Subject (3 subjects are required) 600 (in each section in each test)

Required Documents:

  1. TOEFL CBT score
  2. SAT Reasoning Test score
  3. SAT Subject test score
  4. David Mize Scholarship application
  5. List of all American universities the student has applied for
  6. Copy of confirmation letters or acceptance letters received from the universities.
  7. Copy of High School Transcripts.
