Through student podcasts, this Yemeni and American students’ exchange focuses on discussions of global issues, perceptions of both cultures, and opportunities for young people and communities. Qisasna podcasts are the stories of our shared challenges and opportunities.
The twenty female participants in AMAL@Amideast Program will be enrolled in an online English course using Zoom and Google Classroom. Classes begin January 24, 2021, and end December 29, 2022.

Funded by the Yemen Affairs Unit’s Public Affairs Section, AMAL@Amideast provides up to one year of online English language training for a total of 390 contact hours for up to twenty female participants with basic to no prior knowledge of English. It represents Amideast Yemen’s first, fully-online EL training program.
Amideast’s own MENA Scholarship Support Fund (MSSF) makes the dream of study in the United States possible for highly qualified students from underserved populations in Yemen. Through this initiative, Amideast identifies students of exceptional accomplishment and promise who wish to pursue undergraduate study at an American college or university but cannot afford to do so. Selected students will receive academic mentorship and guidance through the U.S. college and university application process.
Amideast’s Tawtheef modules are clustered into five core areas. Each skill area consists of four to seven training modules. Each training module includes one to four training activities. Additionally, there are 2 orientation modules that must be completed before starting any of the modules in these five skill areas.
Office Equipment (Copier/Printer/Scanner/Phone System/Laminating Machine); Troubleshooting; Cloud Applications; MS Office and Typing; Outlook, Hangouts, and Skype; and Networking Basics.
