Scholarship Selection Process

1. Complete Application by February 16, 2013. Request an application form via email (salsiyabi@amideast.org), fax (2459-0360), on AMIDEAST’s website (www.amideast.org) or at AMIDEAST’s new office in Airport Heights or from the National Career Guidance Center in the Ministry of Education. Return the form to Ms.

NeXXt Scholars is an initiative to increase opportunities for young women to pursue undergraduate degrees in the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields at U.S. women’s colleges. Benefits of this initiative include:

• Five-year membership to the New York Academy of Sciences (four years during undergraduate studies + one year post-graduation)

• Individual STEM Mentor and networking opportunities provided by the NYAS

• Access to internship & research opportunities

The Arab Women’s Entrepreneurship Project (AWEP) is a Citi Foundation-funded initiative, implemented by AMIDEAST in Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, and the UAE.  In each country 20 women will compete to be selected to participate in the program and receive:  

13 Days of training on business skills, conducted in Arabic, including topics such as:

• What makes a successful entrepreneur
• How to register a business in Kuwait  
• How to fund a new business or business growth
• How to assess risk and feasibility
• Strategic planning
• Accounting and cash flow
• Customer service
• Sales skills

يسرهيئة الأمديست (مكتب أمريكا والشرق الأوسط للخدمات التعليمية والتدريبية) أن تعلن عن برنامج تطوير الفتيات فى مجالات خدمة المجتمعWISE  بالتعاون مع مكتب الشئون العامة بالسفارة الأمريكية بالقاهرة. يتكفل البرنامج بجميع المصاريف

يقدم البرنامج منحة تدريبية مجانية على مهارات اللغة الانجليزية لمدة عام وسيتم تنفيذ البرنامج خلال العام الدراسي والإجازة الصيفية لعام 2012 و ذلك للفتيات بين سن 15 و17 عاما

أن تكون الطالبة بالبرنامج ملمة بأساسيات اللغة الانجليزية

لا يوجد موعد نهائي لهذا العرض. وللحصول على أفضل فرصة، قومي بتقديم طلب في أسرع وقت ممكن. وبمجرد نشوء فرصة في برنامج النساء العراقيات العاملات في مجال العلوم التطبيقية والهندسة، فإنه سيتم النظر في الطلبات التي تم استلامها سابقاً.

يجب أن تكون المشاركات في المرحلة الأخيرة من برنامج النساء العراقيات العاملات في مجال الهندسة والعلوم التطبيقية من حملة جواز سفر عراقي جي، وذلك من أجل المشاركة. وإذا لم يكن لديك جواز السفر هذا، يرجى تقديم طلب على الفور من أجل الحصول عليه.

كمشارِكة في برنامج النساء العراقيات العاملات في مجال العلوم التطبيقية والهندسة سيكون لديك فرصة لما يلي:

• الدوام في جامعة أميركية مرموقة باعتبارها كلية إقامة لتحديث معلوماتك ومهاراتك التدريسية في الهندسة والعلوم التطبيقية للمساهمة في جامعتك عند عودتك إلى الوطن.
• تحسين لغتك الإنجليزية.
• التفاعل مع أساتذة جامعات أميركية وغيرهم من المهنيين في مجال التعليم.
• خوض تجربة الثقافة الأميركية والمجتمع الأميركي.

تغطي منح برنامج النساء العراقيات العاملات في مجال العلوم التطبيقية والهندسة جميع النفقات الرئيسية، بما فيها مصاريف السفر، وبدلات السكن والصيانة، والتأمين الصحي. وستتم تغطية تكاليف البرنامج من قِبل المؤسسة التي تذهبين إليها.

الأهداف الرئيسية

الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة سيسكو سيستمز، جون تشامبرز (في الوسط) مع متدربين في مقر شركة سيسكو في سان خوسيه، ولاية كاليفورنيا

• تمكين مهنيي تكنولوجيا المعلومات من الشباب اللبناني من تحسين مهاراتهم في مجالات مثل هندسة البرمجيات والنظم، والتسويق، وتطوير الأعمال، وإدارة المشاريع.
• مؤازرة جهود لبنان في إعادة الإعمار من خلال تدريب المهنيين الشباب لتأهيلهم لشغل وظائف شاغرة ومجالات ذات ضرورة في قطاع تكنولوجيا المعلومات في لبنان.

Eligibility Requirements:

North African Community Health Initiative (NACHI) offers 24 promising professionals from Morocco & Egypt the opportunity to gain practical experience in, and exposure to, the U.S. health care system and how it strives to serve citizens living in rural areas who have limited access to medical care.

(Please note: this is not a medical training program.)

To be eligible you must be:

1. Citizen and resident of Morocco or Egypt

2. Age: 25-40 years of age.

3. Education: Have a university degree equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree

4. English: a command of oral and written English at a proficiency to function fully and professionally in an English-speaking work environment. (If you have previously taken a paper TOFEL exam, the score should be 450 or higher.)

5. Experience: current employment and a minimum of 3 years professional experience in a relevant health care field. (See criteria #9 below for further details)

6. Available for Interview: candidates must be available for an in-person interview in either Rabat or Cairo in January, 2011.

7. Return home after program: able to meet the two year post-program home country residency requirement mandated for those participating in U.S. Department of State exchange programs.

8. Employer agreement: candidate demonstrates his or her availability for a month-long U.S. program by providing a letter of reference from his or her current employer
