Customized Programs

For more than two decades, AMIDEAST has assisted American colleges and universities as well as secondary schools and nonprofit organizations by organizing short-term, customized education abroad programs in the Arab world.  Staff in our headquarters office in Washington, DC, and at our field offices throughout the region collaborate to design, organize, and implement such programs on a regular basis.  Among the services that AMIDEAST provides for customized programs are:

  • Program Planning and Design—AMIDEAST can design a brand new program tailored to the interests and needs of specific participants, or adapt a previously designed program to conditions at the place and time you wish to run it.

  • Identification of Lecturers and Activities—AMIDEAST professionals on the ground in the region extensive networks in their local communities, enabling them to reach out to academics, practitioners, local associations, businesses, and others to identify the right speakers and activities for your program theme.

  • Accommodations—In some countries, AMIDEAST relies on a network of host families to house students in short-term customized programs; in others, where the host family tradition is not yet established, AMIDEAST uses safe, clean, convenient, and affordable hotels. When students live with families, they generally eat most of their meals with them, gaining valuable cultural insights from the interactions that result. For students residing in hotels, AMIDEAST can recommend clean, reasonably priced restaurants convenient to where the students live and study.

  • Program-related excursions and sightseeing—AMIDEAST has long-standing relationships with guides and transport companies to provide excursions and sightseeing visits that complement your academic theme.

  • Connections to local academics and students—AMIDEAST’s relationships with local academic institutions, faculty members, and the large number of host country nationals enrolled in AMIDEAST English and professional training programs provide ready opportunities for meaningful interaction on a local level.
